We can accommodate up to 50 for a formal meal in the dining room, up to 100 for an informal buffet in the house and up to 500 for a corporate marquee reception on the lawn. We do not employ in-house caterers, but we can recommend a number of independent caterers who are familiar with our kitchens. Their catering styles vary and all will happily provide sample menus. Costs vary between about £15 to £40 per head, plus wine, depending on what you require. We do not take a commission from caterers, so you may rest assured that our recommendations are impartial. If you wish, however, you are free to use your own catering company. All that we ask is that you use a professional firm with their own commercial insurance.
Whoever you use for your catering, please note that we do not have facilities for disposal of commercial rubbish here so please let your caterers know that they must make arrangements for clearing and disposing of leftovers.
If you are interested in a marriage ceremony only, you are welcome to supply your own celebration drinks; we do not charge corkage ("corkage" is an extra charge levied by many establishments when clients bring their own drinks). A member of our staff will be available to pour your drinks at no extra cost. If you are having your reception here and are employing caterers, please check their policy on corkage – some do make a charge for serving drinks you have purchased elsewhere, while others are happy to include this service as a part of the overall catering contract. Please note that we do not supply our own waiting staff for mini-reception bookings.
If you would like live music at your event we can put you in touch with a variety of musical entertainers, from string quartets to jazz bands. Alternatively, bring your own iPod or CDs, but please also bring a portable machine on which to play them and arrange for one of your party to operate the machine.
