BOUGHTON MONCHELSEA PLACE

near Maidstone, Kent

Boughton Monchelsea Place is an Elizabethan stone-built manor house. It stands in its own estate of 165 acres which includes walled gardens, a private deer park with lake, and woodland. The house is reached by a gravelled 1km drive which winds through private woodland before sweeping round to the house. Click here for information on garden and house tours.

From the long formal lawn in front of the house there are glorious views down over the deer park and many miles of unspoilt Kent countryside.

The atmosphere throughout the interior of the house is friendly and relaxed. There is an attractive reception suite comprised of the entrance hall, drawing room and dining room. In addition clients have the use of the library and three smaller syndicate rooms: the 'gun room', 'court room' and 'garden room'. All the rooms, in their different ways, are full of character. Log fires burn in winter; flowers from the garden perfume the house in summer. The rooms are furnished in country house style in keeping with their "off-duty" use as part of a family home, but where practicable we are happy to take out or bring in items of furniture to suit your requirements.

There is also a separate conference room annexed to the Georgian clockhouse which overlooks the pretty rear courtyard. This can be used by up to 60, depending upon the nature of the meeting.
