AFTERNOON RECEPTIONS
Afternoon receptions - the 'Mini-Reception' (Monday to Friday only)
Regrettably, we no longer offer evening receptions. You might however like to consider a "mini-reception" where you can enjoy the atmosphere of a country house reception without the cost of a full day“s hire. For not much more than the cost of a marriage ceremony you can hire the Reception Suite for the whole afternoon, from 12 noon to 5pm inclusive. The bride and groom can marry here, then have their photographs, celebration drinks and a light afternoon meal- perhaps sandwiches or a finger buffet - or even a sit-down wedding breakfast, before going on to another venue or a parent“s or friend“s home for evening celebrations. The cost for our mini-reception package is £950, excluding catering but including candles to be lit during the ceremony, hire of our chiller cabinet for cooling your drinks, hire of garden furniture in case of fine weather and hire of dining furniture. We can accommodate a maximum of 80 guests for a finger buffet, or a maximum of 50 for a served meal or fork buffet. This facility is available on weekday afternoons only.
If you wish to continue with an evening reception elsewhere we can suggest nearby venues, including hotels, private function rooms, country restaurants and village halls, that you might like to go on to from here.
The Reception Suite
There are three reception rooms at your disposal - Drawing Room, Dining Room and Library – in addition to the Entrance Hall where the marriage ceremony takes place. They are all nicely furnished in country house style.

All of the reception rooms have open fireplaces; if the weather is cold on your wedding day we will happily light the fires for you.
